National Internship Visa
Visa for foreigners who have obtained a university degree in the past two years or who are pursuing studies that will lead to their obtaining a university degree in Spain or abroad, and who are participating in an internship programme in Spain (through the signature of an internship agreement or of a trainee contract) with the purpose of improving their knowledge, their skills and their experience in a professional environment.
If these conditions are not met, it is possible to apply for a study visa for the undertaking of other internships in Spain (see “study visas").

Required documents
Official foreign documents must be legalized and, where applicable, must be submitted together with a sworn translation into Spanish.
1. National visa application form. Each applicant must complete and sign a visa application form, filling in each of its sections. If the applicant is a minor, one of their parents or a duly accredited representative must sign the application.
2. Photograph. A recent, passport-size, colour photograph, taken against a light background, facing forward, without dark or reflective glasses, or any garments concealing the oval of the face.
3. Passport with a minimum validity of 1 year and containing two blank pages. Original and a photocopy of the page or pages of the passport that contain biometric data. Passports issued more than 10 years ago will not be accepted.
4. Authorization for residence and internship. Original and a copy of the resolution of authorization issued by the Delegation or Sub-delegation of the Government in the province in Spain in which the internship will be carried out.
5. Criminal record check certificate. Applicants of legal age must submit the original and a copy of the criminal record check certificate(s) issued by their country or countries of residence for the past 2 years. This certificate must have been issued within the 6 months period before the visa application is submitted, unless the certificate itself specifies a longer expiration. Additionally, a responsible declaration of the absence of criminal records of the last five years will be presented.
6. Proof of residence in the consular district. (Kenya, Uganda or Somalia). Persons of nationalities other than Kenyan, Ugandan or Somalian must submit a photocopy of their residence permit in one of these three countries.
7. Proof of the representative's identity and capacity. If the applicant is a minor, it will be necessary to submit copies of the identity document or passport of one of their parents, as well as of the document constituting proof of kinship.
8. Payment of the visa fee. Visa fee payment is compulsory and has to be made at the same time when submitting a visa application. The fee has to be paid in local currency and it is subject to regular changes due to the currency fluctuations. Please check the list of fees on the website of the Embassy of Spain.
Procedure
The Embassy of Spain (consular section) is competent to accept visa applications from individuals residing in the consular district.
Sworn translations and legalisations

The legalization of documents shall include all the signatures of the signatures of the official documents. Final legalization of foreign documents is to be carried out at the Embassy of Spain. Legalization service is open on Thursdays from 9 AM to 1 PM and not subject to prior appointment. However if the applicant wishes to get legalized a high number of documents or if the legalization of documents is urgent, please contact emb.nairobi.vis@maec.es in advance.
